Sleep by C.L Taylor - Book Review

All Anna wants is to be able to sleep. But crushing insomnia, terrifying night terrors and memories of that terrible night are making it impossible. If only she didn’t feel so guilty…
To escape her past, Anna takes a job at a hotel on the remote Scottish island of Rum, but when seven guests join her, what started as a retreat from the world turns into a deadly nightmare.
Each of the guests have a secret, but one of them is lying – about who they are and why they're on the island. There's a murderer staying in the Bay View hotel. And they've set their sights on Anna.
Seven strangers. Seven secrets. One deadly lie.
Someone’s going to sleep and never wake up…

My Review

Wow!! What an excellent read! C. L Taylor has excelled herself with this book. It's my favourite of her books I have read so far. I loved it from start to finish.
Anna has taken herself off to a remote Scottish Isle to escape her problems, after an awful crash. However, it is not so easy to run away from your issues, and often follow you around.
C. L Taylor has written perfect characters who each bring an extra dimension to the story. A real roller coaster of a read, just as I thought the story was going one way, I learned I was wrong.
Sleep certainly kept me on my toes. With a feeling of mystery and intrigue embracing me, I couldn't put the book down until I learned what was going on. The story was well written and thought out, and all bases where covered by the end. A superb ending and so many characters I had very definite views on. Anna was a character who I had sympathy for right throughout.
This is a story that gave me so much enjoyment to read. It held me from the first chapter and didn't let me go until the end. There are just so many great parts of this story, but it is difficult for me to explain fully without giving spoilers. If you read one thriller/mystery this year make it Sleep, you won't regret it!
So that's enough gushing from me, I will just finish by saying I can't wait to read more of C. L Taylor's work.
