A Night Out In Liverpool *Gifted

I love living in Liverpool, it is a great city full of great bars, restaurants, hotels and a lot of great places to visit on a day/night out. So if you are looking to visit Liverpool I'm going to be talking about a couple of places you might like to visit.

Hotels.com kindly gifted the spending money for this post, but all opinions are my own.

We started off at Free State Kitchen at No1 Maryland Street, a great little place to eat. It offers a range of American food. They offer a good selection of food and offer vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options. We went for the hotdog, which was delicious (and so filling!!). They have a great little garden area which would be lovely to sit out in, when the weather is nice. Unfortunately we couldn't sit outside as it was raining. I only managed to get a photo of the food, so thank you to Kate from Free State Kitchen for supplying some photos of interior and garden area.

We then headed across the road to The Hope and Anchor for a quick game of pool and a drink before we headed to Hot Water Comedy Club. The Hope and Anchor has a really relaxed and chilled atmosphere.

You might have come across videos from Hot Water on Facebook or YouTube. I am always watching them, so I was really excited to visit and it was the highlight of the night! They have shows every night at two venues Seel Street and Hardman Street. A lot of these are free to attend! (You do need to get there early to secure a seat, even if you book tickets, as it fills up really quickly)

There was an all round pleasant and upbeat atmosphere and the compere Paul Smith is brilliant at entertaining the crowd in between the acts. It's really worth a visit, staff are friendly and the acts are great. I will definitely be going again, so keep an eye out for a full review in the future.

These are just a few places to visit but there are so many others including The Empire Theatre, The Baltic Triangle, The Albert Dock, World Museum, Walker Art Gallery and so much more!!

  1. I don't know how I didn't realise you were a Liver Bird but clearly I've been under a rock These venues look like so much fun and if I ever come up North then I know who to contact to show me the best time! Great review, Emma, thank you for sharing Lisa x
