My Review

If you read my review of the first part of this series you will know I enjoyed it. I was looking forward to jumping into the second part. I was eager to see where the story went and what happened to the characters I had got to know.

Val Penny has a way of writing opening chapters that really draws me into the story. While it is a slow paced read at first it soon picks up pace. Although Hunter's Revenge can be read as a stand alone, personally I would read the first part. There are a lot of the same characters and the majority of stories carry on from where they left off.

Hunter is trying to find out what happened to his elderly colleague George Reinbold. He is investigating George's murder whilst dealing with the grief of him being murdered. All of his team feel the loss of one of their own. They all determined to find out what happened to their friend.

Hunter is finally getting somewhere with his love interest, which was really nice to read about. He is a really well written character and has many layers to him. The more I read about Bear and Tim, the more their characters friendship warms my heart. Hopefully there will be more parts to this series, as I feel it could turn into a really good series of novels.

We are also treated to the return of cousins, Jamie and Frankie, this is another pairing that I have liked reading about. They are living together and Frankie is bringing up his twin daughters. The two men argue and bicker quite a bit but deep down they care about each other a lot.

I don't want to spoil anything but this is a story well worth reading, for fans of crime/police investigation novels. Thank you to Rachel for inviting me take part on the blog tour for Hunter's Revenge.
